Are there sham astrologers around?
If so, are there ways of telling these apart?
Probably there are. You can see competent and incompetent people in every profession. Besides, on my opinion, the presence or the absence of a diploma or any other certificate does not really matter. There are many examples when qualified engineers design bridges that collapse, or medical doctors that place incorrect diagnoses with disastrous consequences for their patients. Besides, the western educational system is getting more commercialized every day, so a lot of qualifications nowadays can easily be “bought” and “sold”. Therefore on my opinion the presence or the absence of a diploma is not really an accurate indicator if the astrologer is genuine or not. I think what distinguishes people from any profession is the number of clients that they have and who they can sustain over the time. At the same time it is important not to measure the authenticity of the astrologer solely by the money he makes. Astrology should not be regarded as an entertainment. Sometimes we may not like what this science has to teach us, but nevertheless we should listen and learn.
I become professional astrologer in 2004. I also hold a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Diploma in Electronics and Post Graduate degree in Computer Science. For many years I worked as a professional engineer, while astrology was my hobby, while for a number of years now the opposite is true. In my work I attempt to combine both principles that live within me - the scientific on one side and the spiritual on the other. I believe that anyone deserves the astrologer they chose. You can observe this on physic fairs for example. Usually there is a big choice of readers, but a client will go to this particular reader, who resonates with his or her own energy the best.
